Alabama Coroner’s Training Commission Continuing Education Opportunities
The Alabama Coroner’s Training Commission (ACTC) is tasked with developing and routinely updating a list of approved training opportunities. These opportunities are designed to help coroners fulfill the annual requirement of 12 hours of documented and approved continuing education.
1. Alabama Coroners Association Annual Conference- March 30th – April 3rd, 2025, Orange Beach, AL, submitted for ABMDI approval
2. ABMDI – American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators Nationally recognized and accredited professional certification board with a mission to promote high standards for medicolegal death investigators. Information on certification process and links for continuing education opportunities available on site.
3. Alabama Coroners Association (ACA) and Legacy of Hope (LOH) will be facilitating three regional training sessions in 2025- locations and dates will be released soon. ACA is seeking ABMDI approval. Sessions will be APOST compliant with agency head approval.
4. Foley Forensic Seminar- Held each October in Foley AL
